HPL Hotels & Resorts Recommends Online Booking from Hotel Websites and Travel Partners

HPL Hotels & Resorts has put up a booking advice on all its hotels’ websites recommending that consumers make their online reservations via their hotels’ websites or listed travel partners’ portals.

As part of its continuing commitment to offer service excellence and competitive online rates, the company hopes to address a new concern that consumers might face when booking hotel accommodation online.

“It has recently come to our attention that there are several travel portals offering online rates that are much lower than those on some of our own hotel websites,” said Ms Karen Chan, Marketing Communications Manager for HPL Hotels & Resorts. “This could not be possible as we practice rate parity strategy whereby similar rates are offered on our hotels’ own websites and partners’ websites.”

According to Ms Chan, rate parity is important as it protects a hotel’ relationship with its tour operators and all its distribution channels, including online travel partners, to ensure rate integrity so that the customer becomes confident in booking the hotel either through its own website or its partners’ websites. Also, the consumer can rest assured that reservations will be honoured and given priority as bookings made via the hotels’ own websites are secure and offer immediate confirmation.

“For peace of mind, such a recommendation is necessary so as to avoid any unpleasant surprises for customers who appear at a hotel’s Front Desk with a non-partner booking just to find that the hotel was holding no reservation for them,” explains Ms Chan. “In such a situation, bookings will be not honoured and accommodation will be subject to availability of rooms at the time of check-in and the room type and rate available may not be what the guests had booked.”
As a result, HPL Hotels & Resorts has put up a “Booking Advice” on each of its hotel’s website, a list of bona-fide online partners that the hotels work with, to encourage their guests to book with those instead.

Melting Pot Café at Concorde Hotel KL Unveils New Look

15 years have gone by since the Concorde Hotel Kuala Lumpur first opened in 1991. And just before the hotel celebrated its 15th anniversary, we’ve unveiled the dramatically re-designed Melting Pot Café after undergoing a 2-month renovation to update its look and feel, catering to the ever-changing expectations of dining guests. Designed by Peter Tay of P Three Singapore,  the Melting Pot Café has returned with vim and vigour, just in time to give the hotel’s Ramadan promotion extra buzz.

Its wood and marble-accented interior of old has now given way to vibrant wall murals and sleek glass and sandstone accents.  The central buffet display is set up with an open kitchen concept, and here you will get to see the chefs cooking up a storm at the various stations. The venue, which can seat 225 diners comfortably within its generously spaced layout, allows guests to relax in a causal environment while watching the hustle and bustle along the hip Jalan Sultan Ismail, one of Kuala Lumpur’s busiest thoroughfares.

The New Suvarnabhumi Airport - Welcome to Pattaya

Welcome to Pattaya - We are ready for you with the opening of the new Suvarnabhumi airport.

The official opening of the new international airport on 28 September 2006 adds to Thailand’s quest in making Bangkok, and Thailand, the aviation hub of the region.

The name 'Suvarnabhumi' which means 'Golden Land' was selected by His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej of Thailand.

At 563,000 square metres, the passenger terminal is currently the largest in the world and is aimed to accomodate 100 million passengers a year after its final phase. The airport also features the world's longest runway, 75.3 metres by 4,000 metres long and the world’s tallest control tower, 132.2 metres high, providing the best visual coverage of overall airside and the capacity to manage approximately 76 flights per hour.

Suvarnabhumi Airport is located at Km. 15 (15th kilometre milestone) on the east-bound Bangna-Trat Highway in Bang Phli district, Samut Prakan province, east of Bangkok. The airport is approximately 25 kms from the Bangkok metropolis and only 1-½ hours from Pattaya.

As of 28 September 2006, Suvarnabhumi Airport replaces Don Muang airport as Bangkok's primary airport for all commercial airline flights.

A1 GP Sepang International Circuit, Malaysia, 2006

The fifth race in the 2006-07 A1GP World Cup of Motorsport is hotting up even before the A1 teams arrive in Malayisa.

Sepang International Circuit was officially opened on 9 March 1999 by Prime Minister Dato’ Seri Dr. Mahathir Mohamad. It was then, and still is a benchmark for other motorsport venues around the world. The Sepang International Circuit consists of three circuits in one. The main racetrack is 5.54km with the South Track being 2.7km and the North Track 2.8km.

Built in a natural stadium, all spectators can see at least 50 per cent of the circuit no matter where they sit, making the A1 race in Malaysia, one of the best races to see the A1 cars in action. Just 60km south of Kuala Lumpur, fans can also visit the attractions of one of the most interesting cities in Asia, including the Petronas Twin Towers, one of the tallest buildings in the world.

At the heart of the circuit, facing the main grandstand is the pit building. The largest in the world, which faces the main grandstand. It contains 30 pit garages, 12 official offices for the FIA and race organisers, race control, time keeping, media centre, photographers’ room and medical centre. The track is also electronically linked through a network of fibre optic cabling system, along the track to 27 closed circuit TV cameras, which is centrally monitored at the Race Control Room.

A1 first arrived in Sepang in November 2005, for its first ever Asian event, where an enthusiastic crowd watched their local hero Alex Yoong race to an impressive fifth place finish.

If you are attending the A1, do opt for a hassle free & comfortable stay with us at the Concorde Inn KLIA, only 8 minutes from Sepang International Circuit, where all the action is.
