Hard Rock Hotel Pattaya Raises THB 800,000 for Chaipattana Foundation |
 |
|
|
|
Hard Rock Hotel Pattaya, led by General Manager Andrew Khoo, recently announced that it has raised a total of THB 800,000 for the Chaipattana Foundation.
The said amount includes proceeds from ticket sales of THB 292,800, auction of donated prizes of THB 234,900 and cash donation of THB 28,200 from Hard Rock Hotel Pattaya's 5th Annual Christmas Charity Light Up held on 1 December 2006.
Prior to the event, Band Members and Management at Hard Rock Hotel Pattaya made a personal donation of THB 100,000 while another THB 144,100 came from the Hotel's fulfillment of its pledge to donate THB 60 for every THB 1000 walk-in Stars (guests) spend on rooms in the month of June this year, in commemoration of the 60th Anniversary of His Majesty The King's accession to the throne.
Aside from organizing the charity event, Hard Rock Hotel Pattaya sponsored food and beverages along with other sponsors. The event was organized in association with Pattaya Mail, the City's first and most widely read English language newspaper.
Initiated by the King of Thailand, His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej, The Chaipattana Foundation was formed to support implementation of Royally-initiated projects particularly that of social and economic welfare activities to improve the quality of life of people in rural areas, enabling them to become self-reliant.
Under the grace of His Majesty's Royal Patronage, Chaipattana Foundation focuses on development activities that promote and develop the livelihood of people in the provinces.
In his speech at the annual charity event, Mr. Khoo thanked the many donors and sponsors responsible for the success of the event, particularly that of Pattaya City Mayor Nirun Wattanasartsathorn and Deputy Mayor Khun Khun Veerawat Khakaie. He also noted how it was "great to see that a tradition that began five years ago has grown so much in awareness and acceptance".
"It is very heart-warming to see that all of you have taken time out from your busy lives to be with us on this special occasion. And that, I believe, is one of the special aspects of this event - the chance to gather together to reflect and give to those less fortunate than us," he added.
Now on its fifth year, the Christmas Charity Light-Up Event has always been fun-packed but very meaningful. The event is highlighted by the ceremonial lighting of Hard Rock Hotel's themed Christmas tree, which this year was lit with yellow lights in honor of His Majesty, the King's birthday and the 60th Anniversary of His Accession to the Throne.
Gen. Kanit Permsub, Deputy Chief Aide-De-Camp and General to His Majesty the King, was the event's guest of honor and the Chaipattana Foundation representative.

Harley Davidson Club Indonesia stay at Hard Rock Hotel Bali to celebrate |

Harley Davidson Club Indonesia stay at Hard Rock Hotel Bali to celebrate Harley Davidson Club Bali's 6th Anniversary.
Members of the Harley Davidson clubs from Bandung converged on the roads of Bali between 11 - 15 November to celebrate the 6th anniversary of Harley Davidson Club Bali. Harley Davidson Club Indonesia (HDCI) dubbed this year's event "Pahlawan Tour" in conjunction with Indonesia's annual Hari Pahlawan, which coincided with the event's dates.
Hari Pahlawan or the day of the heroes is an annual ceremonial event held around the archipelago on the 10th of November to commemorate Indonesia's victory over Dutch occupying force in Surabaya, east Java. Officials designated as heroes by the Indonesian government are honoured on this day
Bikers from Bandung made their way to Ketapang Harbour on the 11th of November and took the ferry down to Bali on the 3 day trip.
Over 40 riders and their pillions from both clubs stayed at Hard Rock Hotel Bali, with their prized motorcycles over the weekend. The collection of highly tuned and polished machines at hotel entrance became a gathering area for discussion among riders, enthusiasts and guests alike.
This was their 3rd time in Bali and at the Hard Rock Hotel. Mr. Hendra, the contact person for Harley Davidson Bandung said "Every time we come to Bali we always choose Hard Rock because of its location (kuta). We love the entertainment & never miss to take a pic with the giant guitar". They have also been to Medan and Jakarta since the annual event began in 2006.
Locals were treated to the antics of the riders on the 13th of November as they paraded their bikes down the streets of Kuta and rode hard through Kintamanii, Bedugul and Benoa before turning back to the Hard Rock Hotel Bali. The next day was spent cooling down at the hotel, the Spa and shopping around Kuta's numerous stores, after the days of hard riding.
